A Hat Man
Dad wasn’t a material man, but two things he loved to wear most was his baseball caps and wrist watches. He sported these hats everywhere. And as you can see, he was a proud patriot. One of my last memories of these hats was how he wanted one at the hospital to cover his hair because he didn’t like how it looked messy. He always cared about how he looked. I think my love of hats came from him.
And then the wrist watches. I don’t know if a Christmas went by that I didn’t get him a wrist watch - it was always on his list. From army green to bright orange - he wanted choices so he could match them up with his outfits - for a man who wasn’t a material man after-all!
And regardless of where we were or what was going on, or not, he was always checking the time! Even as a retired man. Always checking the time.
